'We'll be spending thousands on this sweet dumb-dumb': Cute cat has unfortunate accident that breaks his jaw but brings viral internet fame, his pawrents successfully use stardom to help pay for expensive surgery

Welcome to Caturday, fam. Every once in a while, we come across a story that is just purrfect for that Caturday scrolling…and this is one of them. Every pet pawrent has nightmares about something happening to their fur baby. Maybe you fear they will escape, others fear that they will fall from somewhere, or whatever else our anxious hooman brains can think of, but we never thought that a story like this would come from a cat collar.

The cute cat in this post actually broke their jaw from a collar after getting his jaw stuck in a breakaway collar. Yes, we know it's very sad, but just hang on for a few more meowments (it gets better). They gave him a makeshift splint, causing the cat to look like Bane from Batman, and the kitty went viral. So viral, in fact, that they were able to crowdsource the money to help pay for his surgery and now he's recovering like a champ. Scroll down to see more of this Bane Cat below!

    My sweet boy's safety/breakaway collar was evidentially NOT very safe. Got stuck around his jaw, and he completely broke off the top of his Remus trying to get it off. After getting x-rays to confirm, no local or emergency vets in our state seem to feel confident enough to fix it, so this

    J Strap 2.0, which is a slightly more secure version. He also kept finding ways to wiggle out of his toast collar, so now he gets to wear soft cones during the day, and a plastic cone at night. (He's big mad about the loss of his toast/pillow)

    Also, I want to give a HUGE shoutout to the staff and vet at OKC Vet Campus. They have been so patient and sweet with our boy, and I have never EVER been to a vet that is as caring and kind and willing to work at his pace & level. Seriously, these people are amazing. We called

    Lastly, I just want to say that, this surgery is going to be VERY expensive for us. We have had to take out a small loan to cover it, as 75% is required up front, with the other 25% required at pickup.   • Overall, we're just really happy that the surgery was successful and the cat is on its way to a healthy recovery. Not all stories have this happy of an ending.
